Assignment Brief and Guidance |
Task 1 Scenario You have been invited to attend a local Employer Advisory Forum that is presenting a discussion topic on organisational behaviour. You are to choose an organisation of your choice (those in work should use their organisation of employment) to research and produce a report (2000 words). The purpose of the discussion forum will be to establish the influence that organisational culture and motivation has upon behaviours and performances within the workplace. You will be required to discuss and critically analyse the various organisational cultures and motivational theories, and to identify which ones can be found in your organisation. The discussion must then critically evaluate how the above-mentioned theories influence behaviours within organisations and how this affects the performance of each organisation. You will conclude with recommendations on how your organisation could improve the performance of their staff to meet goals. You are required to produce and submit a report and it will be an overview of your chosen organisation’s culture, politics and power, with relevant examples of how these aspects of organisational behaviour have influenced behaviour in the workplace. It should also include how motivational theories and techniques have been applied in your organisation, supported by relevant examples. Task 2 You are also required to submit a written presentation to demonstrate your understanding of teamwork and application of organisational behaviour theories. (1500 words) For your presentation, consider an organisational situation of your chosen organisation (for example, application of digital technology in business to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction or cost minimisation). Using teamwork theories, you are required to explainwhat makes an effective team as opposed to an ineffective team. Furthermore, you will applyconcepts and philosophies within your chosen organisation in the business situation that you have chosen. There is a reward for outstanding presentation.
