1.3 review methods of dealing with inappropriate interpersonal communication between individuals in health and social care settings
1.4 Analyze the use of strategies to support users of health and social care services with specific communication needs.
First learning objective in the unit discusses several important aspects related to communication in health and social care. First it provide importance why communication importance in health and social care. Further it deals with role of verbal communication in health and social care as along with verbal communication, non-verbal communication is also adopted to deal with users and enhance their experience. Barriers of communication should be explored and dealt with utmost care so that users and care workers can communicate without hindrance to develop a win-win situation for both. Communication cycle should be well explained to the care workers working in healthcare field as this would lead to good communication skills in them. Users should also be interviewed to know barriers to effective communication so that they can gain benefits. Organizational system and policies are vital in promoting good practice in health and social care setting. Management has key role in finding out ways to improve upon communication process in health and social care setting.

Benefits for ICT software package for care workers, care organizations and social are users should be evaluated and efforts should be to enhance these benefits.
